Wii Fit Day 1.

Well, yesterday it came -- Wii Fit! I really wanted it when it hit stores in May, but didn't pre-order (well, I wanted to, but I asked DH to get it as a gift for our anniversary.) But anyway, bygones, so I have it now.

Of course, as soon as I could I got it all set up and tested it out. I started by creating a profile and quickly learned that it doesn't work so well on carpet -- weighing in on carpet shaved 40 pounds off my weight! So for the sake of honestly, I got a board and put it under the balance board -- that worked, It was more accurate.

My fitness age as about 11 years older than I am, but I expected it to be much worse. It was pretty fun, and I got DH to do it too. After getting our ages, I went into play a few of the games.

Hula Hoop will take some practice, I can't seem to catch the ones they throw at you. When I did Step last night, I found myself unable to keep up -- It's like DDR, but DH was laughing at me the whole time, so I was having trouble. Then I did the running, this was interesting...but a little boring, I wish I could have had my own music on. DH managed to "cheat" it by swinging his arm while lying down on the couch -- silly boy.

This morning, I woke up to do more step, and did much better without the joker in the back of the room. I moved on to advanced step, which I did about three times in a row, so I think I'm getting it down. I'd like to get a smaller board to stabilize the balance board so that it won't get in the way of the side steps. I managed to unlock "free step" so I might try that tomorrow.

I also did one yoga move, but was getting short of time, so I'll try that again later. And, I didn't do any strength training -- maybe I'll try that tonight.

All and all, I thought it was pretty fun, and I will be a nice addition to my workout routine, which has been needing some variety lately. It also made me think of breaking out the DDR again, since ellipticalling has been getting boring.
